Nokia kills off Comes With Music in all but 6 countries

Nokia's experiment with the OVI Unlimited Music service -- which the company branded as "Comes With Music" on many of its handsets -- is winding down. A Nokia spokesperson has stated that the service just hasn't gained enough traction to keep it going. Competition from other services -- like Spotify and iTunes -- ultimately proved to be too much in certain markets. Unlimited Music will still be available in a handful of countries, however (just 6 out of 33). Nokia will continue to offer 1-year subscriptions in China, India and Indonesia, and 6-month subs in Brazil, South Africa, and Turkey.

Users who currently hold an active subscription will be able to download music until their service runs out -- and will always be able to listen to their downloaded songs. Nokia has also stated that the decision to "rethink" Unlimited Music won't affect the OVI Music Store or other music-related services it is currently developing.
